Adam Adler

Founder and Managing Partner of The Adler Fund

In every stage of his career, Adam Adler has built his work around discipline, long-term thinking, and a willingness to learn from each new challenge. Today, he leads The Adler Fund, a Charleston-based private equity group focused on sustainable real estate, technology, and early-stage ventures. His path spans athletics, biotechnology, high-stakes decision-making, and hands-on leadership, shaping him into the investor and operator he is now.

A Start Shaped by Tennis

Adam’s early experiences were grounded in competitive tennis. He trained for years at the Rick Macci Tennis Academy in South Florida, a place where discipline, repetition, and persistence were core expectations. Those early lessons taught him how to stay focused under pressure and how to build improvement through daily effort.

His commitment earned him a scholarship to the University of South Carolina, where he played tennis while pursuing a double major. He graduated with honors in 2007, completing degrees in Sports & Entertainment Management and Business. The balance between athletics and academics set the foundation for the disciplined mindset he would later rely on in his entrepreneurial work.

Stepping Into Technology Early

Entrepreneurship entered Adam’s life while he was still in college. He co-founded Ultimate Social Networking Inc., an early attempt to bring students together through a digital platform. At the same time, he created the Ultimate College Model, the first entirely online modeling network.

These early ventures helped him understand product development, digital engagement, and the complexities of building platforms with growing user bases. More importantly, they introduced him to the process of starting something from the ground up, an experience that would become central to the rest of his career.

Entering Biotech Innovation

After graduating, Adam moved into the biotech space, combining his interest in athletic performance with scientific research. He formed Fuse Science by assembling a team of molecular scientists, including several who previously worked as biochemists at Merck and Amgen. The company was headquartered in a 30k sq. ft. FDA- and cGMP-certified facility in Oxnard, California.

As CEO, Adam led the team in developing a nutrient delivery system using sublingual, buccal, and transdermal absorption. The purpose was to bypass the digestive tract and allow nutrients to be absorbed much faster than traditional capsules. This shift in delivery approach became the company’s core focus.

Adam personally financed Fuse during its early stages, secured intellectual property, and recruited executives with Fortune 25 backgrounds to build a strong leadership foundation. He also formed partnerships with globally recognized athletes, including Tiger Woods, Andy Murray, David Ortiz, Jose Bautista, Tyson Chandler, Paul Pierce, Andre Ward, and Paul Rodriguez. To help raise awareness, he brought on Daymond John from Shark Tank. Through this strategic mix of product development and partnership building, Fuse’s valuation increased from roughly $500k to more than $100M.

Understanding Risk Through Poker

Adam’s ability to handle risk has been shaped not only by business but also by his involvement in professional poker. He has reached multiple World Series of Poker final tables and secured repeated deep finishes in major World Poker Tour tournaments. His performance at the 2022 WPT Championship, where he reached the televised final table, stands out as one of his most substantial achievements.

He has also competed in some of the world’s highest-stakes cash games. The skill set required, analyzing risk quickly, responding to variance, and staying composed, aligns closely with the way he approaches investing. For Adam, both fields reward strategic thinking and emotional discipline.

Building The Adler Fund

The Adler Fund reflects Adam’s long-term ambitions. Based in Charleston, the firm focuses on real estate development, AI, and early-stage companies. He remains the Managing Partner and is closely involved in evaluating and guiding every significant investment.

In real estate, the fund focuses on sustainable development throughout the Lowcountry. Adam prioritizes projects that combine environmental consideration, practical design, and community benefit. In technology, he supports founders who pursue meaningful innovation, especially in fields such as biotech, cybersecurity, and education.

One example of The Adler Fund’s work is its investment in Wyzly, a learn-to-earn educational app. The idea originated with Adam’s 7-year-old daughter, Isla, who sparked the concept. Wyzly allows children to earn screen time by completing educational challenges. For him, it represents a mission-driven approach to improving how families manage technology.

Hands-On Leadership and Involvement

Adam brings a deeply engaged leadership style to the companies he backs. His experience as a founder helps him understand the operational challenges startups face, while his athletic background influences his ability to work calmly under pressure.

He believes in investing in “passion projects,” focusing on purpose, alignment, and long-term value rather than short-term trends. His relationship-driven approach, which once helped him partner with global athletes, remains an integral part of how he supports companies today.

Personal Influences

Adam credits much of his work ethic to his upbringing. His father, a highly successful day trader, modeled the discipline and persistence that shaped his views on effort and resilience. From an early age, he learned that setbacks are part of growth and that success relies on building strong, aligned teams.

Moving Forward

As he looks ahead, Adam continues to guide The Adler Fund toward opportunities that reflect purpose, innovation, and long-term benefit. Whether in real estate, AI, or early-stage ventures, he remains committed to building investments that have lasting value and meaningful impact.
